Santibelli is a traditional Italian genre of religious sculpture carvings, either in wood or ivory, that depicts saints, angels, or other religious figures. Santibelli dolls are closely related to the Crèche figures, which were implemented in Italy by St Francis of Assisi, during the 13th century.
